Only you and security can enter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat about balconies?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdjacent balcony dividers are locked, but we can place an officer outside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I hated the idea.<\/p>\n<p>I hated needing it more.<\/p>\n<p>At five, Vivian appeared again.<\/p>\n<p>This time carrying coffee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow do you keep finding me?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStaff gossip.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elena frowned.<\/p>\n<p>Vivian shrugged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou put six security officers on one hallway, people notice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I accepted the coffee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRyan is aboard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vivian stared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour son?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIllegally?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the doctor?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPossibly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She handed the second coffee to Michael.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou look worse than she does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wasn\u2019t complimenting you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For ten minutes, Vivian\u2019s presence made the room feel almost ordinary.<\/p>\n<p>Then Elena\u2019s radio exploded with voices.<\/p>\n<p>A restricted medical storage cabinet had been opened.<\/p>\n<p>One item was missing.<\/p>\n<p>A vial of injectable sedative.<\/p>\n<p>My entire body went cold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat kind?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elena listened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMidazolam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael turned toward me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat would that do?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSedate someone,\u201d I said.<\/p>\n<p>I had seen it used in hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>Elena was already moving.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMrs. Miller, you\u2019re going to your cabin now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This time I did not argue.<\/p>\n<p>Two officers walked us back.<\/p>\n<p>Vivian came too.<\/p>\n<p>At the cabin door, an officer checked the lock.<\/p>\n<p>Another examined the balcony.<\/p>\n<p>Everything appeared secure.<\/p>\n<p>I stepped inside.<\/p>\n<p>Michael remained in the hallway with Elena.<\/p>\n<p>Vivian entered with me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re not staying,\u201d I said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, I am.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVivian.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf your son wants a confused widow alone, let\u2019s disappoint him twice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I almost smiled.<\/p>\n<p>Then I noticed something on my pillow.<\/p>\n<p>A photograph.<\/p>\n<p>It had not been there earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Arthur and me.<\/p>\n<p>Taken twenty-six years ago at Ryan\u2019s high school graduation.<\/p>\n<p>Someone had entered the supposedly secured cabin.<\/p>\n<p>On the back, written in black ink, were six words.<\/p>\n<p>HE LIED TO YOU ABOUT DANIEL.<\/p>\n<p>My knees weakened.<\/p>\n<p>Vivian caught my arm.<\/p>\n<p>Michael rushed inside.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I handed him the photograph.<\/p>\n<p>The color drained from his face.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat does this mean?\u201d I asked.<\/p>\n<p>He did not answer.<\/p>\n<p>I stepped closer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat did Arthur lie about regarding my brother?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael stared at the words.<\/p>\n<p>Then at me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt isn\u2019t something I can prove.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t ask whether you could prove it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His eyes closed briefly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Daniel died, the police called it a motorcycle accident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArthur was with him that night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cabin seemed to tilt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hadn\u2019t met Arthur yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou had.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I shook my head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI met Arthur three years after Daniel died.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is what Arthur let you believe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My throat tightened.<\/p>\n<p>Michael\u2019s next words made the world I knew collapse again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArthur knew your brother before he ever introduced himself to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=9691\">Click here to continue reading: PART 7: I Thought Arthur\u2019s Secrets Began With Money, Until Michael Told Me My Husband Had Entered My Life Long Before Our Supposed First Meeting<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ship security searched Deck Five first.
