Richard's eyes never left Samuel as he crossed the gravel. The controlled businessman I had known through dinners, charity events, and boardroom stories was gone. What remained looked older, meaner, and far less certain of himself.<\/p>\n

Carter looked at me.<\/p>\n

"For how long?"<\/p>\n
"Six months."<\/p>\n
Samuel shook his head. "Longer."<\/p>\n
Richard snapped, "Shut your mouth."<\/p>\n
Samuel remained calm.<\/p>\n
"Truth doesn't improve with age, Richard."<\/p>\n
Richard lunged for the box.<\/p>\n
