Rebecca had proof of what he did before North Lake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The recording ended.<\/p>\n<p>I looked at Mara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat did Edward do before North Lake?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She shook her head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whitfield opened the envelope marked AMELIA.<\/p>\n<p>Inside was a handwritten statement from Rebecca.<\/p>\n<p>Dated two days before her death.<\/p>\n<p>She described North Lake.<\/p>\n<p>The fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Edward.<\/p>\n<p>Then, near the bottom, she wrote:<\/p>\n<p>Edward\u2019s greatest secret is not the money.
