them.<\/p>\n<p>She told Malcolm he would never get the original documents.<\/p>\n<p>Malcolm said he didn&#39;t need them.<\/p>\n<p>He said the paperwork already existed.<\/p>\n<p>Margaret understood.<\/p>\n<p>The forged termination document had been prepared before her death.<\/p>\n<p>That was why the signature would later appear to have been written years afterward.<\/p>\n<p>They weren&#39;t trying to create a fake after Margaret died.<\/p>\n<p>They had prepared the mechanism while she was alive.<\/p>\n<p>They simply needed someone vulnerable enough to sign it.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel.<\/p>\n<p>The realization made him stagger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey planned to use me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes,\u201d Carol said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore I was criminal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou made me forge Mom&#39;s signature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carol nodded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investigator asked about Margaret.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happened after she confronted Malcolm?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carol said Margaret tried to leave.<\/p>\n<p>Victor blocked the door.<\/p>\n<p>Arthur took the box from collapsed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel&#39;s voice became very quiet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMom was dying and you waited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carol nodded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investigator&#39;s Need boy.**<\/p>\n<p>Daniel&#39;s face went blank.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe boy was me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investigator took the phone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is M.H.?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Evan looked at me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMalcolm Hale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I frowned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat&#39;s not Malcolm Price.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Evan hesitated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#39;s another name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investigator stared at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExplain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy father said Malcolm Price wasn&#39;t his real name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The room went silent.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel looked at me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Evan said the bank manager had used several identities over the years.
