Jessica\u2019s jewelry changed. Your vacations changed. Lock your door. Don\u2019t sign anything. Don\u2019t let them take the photographs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI already sent them to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite everything, I smiled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSmart girl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s something else in the envelope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt looked like a bank transfer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael stepped onto the porch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is enough, Clare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She looked at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, Dad.
