Behind the glass, a little girl held a red suitcase.<\/p>\n<p>Clara stepped closer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don&#39;t remember that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emily looked at her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou&#39;re sure?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clara nodded slowly. \u201cI have memories from that period, but they&#39;re fragmented. Richard moved me so many times that I stopped asking where I was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lydia studied the photograph.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat girl is Clara.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow do you know?\u201d Grant asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause I was there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The words changed everything.<\/p>\n<p>Lydia explained that she had been hiding near the hospital that day. Robert had arranged for her to watch from a distance while he completed the final transfer of her identity. She had seen Rebecca enter the building with another woman, then leave carrying nothing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Clara was inside,\u201d Lydia said. \u201cI remember her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thomas looked at Clara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you were there, why don&#39;t you remember?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clara shook her head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause I wasn&#39;t supposed to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marcus examined the image through a magnifier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is something written on the suitcase.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emily leaned closer.<\/p>\n<p>A tiny white label was attached to the handle.<\/p>\n<p>17.<\/p>\n<p>The same number.<\/p>\n<p>Again.<\/p>\n<p>Emily felt the familiar pattern returning.<\/p>\n<p>Room 17.<\/p>\n<p>Locker 114.<\/p>\n<p>The archive key.<\/p>\n<p>The final vault.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital record.<\/p>\n<p>The suitcase.<\/p>\n<p>Everything seemed to point toward the same hidden structure.<\/p>\n<p>Grant asked Lydia whether she had kept anything from that day.<\/p>\n<p>Lydia nodded.<\/p>\n<p>She walked into the bedroom and returned with a small envelope.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI kept this because Robert told me never to throw it away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Inside was a hospital visitor badge.<\/p>\n<p>The name printed on it was Robert Wilson.<\/p>\n<p>But the date was different.<\/p>\n<p>It was one day after the hospital record showing Lydia&#39;s disappearance.<\/p>\n<p>Emily frowned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy would Robert still be here?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lydia looked at Thomas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause someone had to sign the final transfer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thomas&#39;s expression hardened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emily froze.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mother?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lydia nodded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe signed for the protected child.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The room became silent.<\/p>\n<p>Emily had spent years believing her mother had manipulated money because she was greedy. Then she had learned that the woman had forged signatures, stolen from the trust, and helped conceal the family&#39;s identities.<\/p>\n<p>Now there was evidence she had personally participated in a child transfer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhich child?\u201d Emily asked.<\/p>\n<p>Lydia looked at Clara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClara.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clara sat down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was transferred?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lydia opened another folder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot to Richard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That surprised everyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen who?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clara&#39;s face went white.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe raised me?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo. She only controlled the paperwork.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lydia explained that Clara had been placed with Richard temporarily because the trust required a guardian whose identity could not be traced directly to the family. Richard later discovered Clara&#39;s importance and refused to release control.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe became obsessed with the trust,\u201d Lydia said. \u201cAt first he was protecting Clara. Then he realized she could unlock part of the archive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emily remembered Richard&#39;s final confrontation.<\/p>\n<p>He had wanted Clara to open the vault.<\/p>\n<p>He had said the archive belonged to him.<\/p>\n<p>But now they understood why.<\/p>\n<p>Clara wasn&#39;t merely a beneficiary.<\/p>\n<p>She had been deliberately positioned as a key.<\/p>\n<p>Grant asked Lydia about the red suitcase.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt belonged to Clara,\u201d Lydia said. \u201cInside were the first documents associated with her protected identity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere is it now?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lydia shook her head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRichard took it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emily immediately remembered the archive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suitcase wasn&#39;t in the final vault.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen where?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lydia looked toward the hallway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a second archive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thomas stiffened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lydia lowered her voice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRobert told me your grandfather created two systems. The first protected the money.
