twelve years of mutual evidence finally reaching the point where cooperation cost more than betrayal.

“Where does Rourke get hurt?”

“Martin tried to use the satellite boat.”

I almost laughed.

After years moving their money, Rourke discovered ethics at sea.

Ortiz seemed to read my expression.

“Self-preservation can not to know.

A smaller tender boat had been secured at the stern.

When Rourke regained full awareness, it was gone.

So were Martin and Voss.

Together?

Rourke did not see.

There were two life jackets missing.

One emergency fuel container.

The tender could travel perhaps twenty or thirty asked.

“Crane assumed the deed and safe.”

Harold nodded.

“Martin had all the leverage.”

“Then Voss needed to stop him.”

“Yes.”

“Could Martin have taken Voss as hostage?”

Ortiz raised an eyebrow.

“Martin is eighty-two.”

“Point before his injury.

Recipient: Peter Rowe.

The lawyer arrested at Sherry’s bank meeting.

So Rowe was not merely paperwork.

He had been coordinating with the yacht.

Harold looked furious.

“Professional privilege does not cover crime.”

Ortiz nodded.

“His lawyer knows.”

Rourke’s financial
