Voss Fiduciary Services.<\/p>\n<p>Toby stared at the screen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaniel Voss wanted to become Mom\u2019s guardian?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot exactly,\u201d Harold said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wanted control over decisions affecting the trust.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I looked at Leon\u2019s old business card.<\/p>\n<p>The former associate who knew every protection my husband had built had apparently spent years finding a route around them.<\/p>\n<p>Ortiz took out her phone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI need someone to locate Voss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Detective Bell stepped into the hallway to make the call.<\/p>\n<p>Less than ten minutes later, he returned.<\/p>\n<p>His expression told me the news before he spoke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis office is empty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ortiz frowned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooks like it was cleared recently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow recently?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding manager says he was there yesterday morning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My skin went cold.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Before the birthday dinner.<\/p>\n<p>Before I refused the charges.<\/p>\n<p>Before the plan began unraveling.<\/p>\n<p>Ortiz looked at Grant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoes Voss know where you are?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grant shook his head.<\/p>\n<p>Then his phone vibrated on the table.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone looked at it.<\/p>\n<p>The screen displayed a message from an unknown number.<\/p>\n<p>Grant did not touch it.<\/p>\n<p>Ortiz said, \u201cOpen it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He did.<\/p>\n<p>There were only nine words.<\/p>\n<p>You should have left the old letter where it was.<\/p>\n<p>Grant\u2019s face drained.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Ortiz held out her hand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGive me the phone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He obeyed.<\/p>\n<p>She read the message again.<\/p>\n<p>Then looked at Harold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Mercer, nobody leaves this office until we determine who knew that letter existed.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=31835\">Click here to continue reading: PART 10: The Threat to Grant Proved Someone Was Watching Us, and Paige Finally Revealed the Conversation She Had Hidden from Toby for Months<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Harold did not call the police immediately.
