Someone came in through the rear stair.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel grabbed the recorder.<\/p>\n<p>Richard arrived behind him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlay it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel pressed the button.<\/p>\n<p>Static.<\/p>\n<p>Then Paul Renner\u2019s frightened voice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did what you asked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An electronically distorted voice replied:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou were told to create fear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Renner said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe line was weaker than expected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou were told not to kill her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The distorted voice continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Anna dies, Daniel becomes unpredictable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel froze.<\/p>\n<p>The exact logic Edward had described.<\/p>\n<p>Renner asked:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat do I do now?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The answer came:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou disappear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The recording ended.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel stared at the device.<\/p>\n<p>Richard spoke softly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan Claire\u2019s comparison be trusted?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel looked at the note.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe risked everything because of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho did it match?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A new sound came from the recorder.<\/p>\n<p>Hidden second track.<\/p>\n<p>Claire\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you are hearing this, I did not get the chance to tell you in person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel\u2019s heartbeat accelerated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe voice belongs to the person Anna trusted most after you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel\u2019s face tightened.<\/p>\n<p>Claire continued:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRichard Hale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel slowly turned.<\/p>\n<p>Richard stood three feet behind him.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=30642\">Click here to continue reading: PART 16: Richard Faced the Recording That Named Him, but a Hidden Second Voice Revealed the Order Had Been Passed Through Someone Else<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daniel hit the vault door with both hands. \u201cClaire!\u201d The monitor showed no reaction.
