MERCER.<\/p>\n<p>ANNA MERCER.<\/p>\n<p>SOPHIE MERCER.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel\u2019s blood turned cold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOpen Sophie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard immediately objected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaniel\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOpen it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lena clicked.<\/p>\n<p>Inside were school schedules.<\/p>\n<p>Photographs.<\/p>\n<p>Medical appointment dates.<\/p>\n<p>Addresses.<\/p>\n<p>Security routines.<\/p>\n<p>A file labeled RESPONSE MODEL.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel stared at his daughter\u2019s name on the screen.<\/p>\n<p>This was no longer about Anna.<\/p>\n<p>No longer about Bellmont.<\/p>\n<p>Someone had catalogued Sophie.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel pulled out his phone and called the security officer assigned to his house.<\/p>\n<p>No answer.<\/p>\n<p>He called again.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing.<\/p>\n<p>His face changed.<\/p>\n<p>Richard understood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSophie?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel was already moving.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCall her school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marcus Reed reached for his radio.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel dialed the school office.<\/p>\n<p>The receptionist answered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWestbridge Academy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is Daniel Mercer.
