Your family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I said nothing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ll all want something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His eyes narrowed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd you think you know the difference?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I looked at Daniel.<\/p>\n<p>At Renee\u2019s empty chair from last night.<\/p>\n<p>At the house I had bought because it felt like mine before anyone knew.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause some of them wanted me before they wanted the money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thomas\u2019s expression hardened again.<\/p>\n<p>The officer guided him toward the car.<\/p>\n<p>Then Thomas twisted slightly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAsk Richard about Northwind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard went still.<\/p>\n<p>My heart dropped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thomas smiled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAsk him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The officer pushed his head gently down and placed him in the back seat.<\/p>\n<p>The door closed.<\/p>\n<p>Nobody moved for several seconds.<\/p>\n<p>I turned toward Richard.<\/p>\n<p>His face had lost color.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho is Northwind?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He did not answer quickly enough.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel saw it too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRichard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finally he said, \u201cNorthwind Consulting is not Thomas\u2019s company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou asked earlier who could attempt the transfer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He looked at Detective Shah.<\/p>\n<p>Then at me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought the name sounded familiar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My stomach tightened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom where?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard exhaled slowly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNorthwind is one of the outside vendors my firm used during the first week after your claim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The room became completely silent.<\/p>\n<p>I stared at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor what?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDocument security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel swore.<\/p>\n<p>Richard continued before anyone could interrupt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey had temporary access to encrypted intake material.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My mouth went dry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo Thomas didn\u2019t get everything from Melissa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomeone else had access.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInside your own system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard looked sick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And suddenly arresting Thomas did not feel like the ending of anything.<\/p>\n<p>It felt like the first time we had finally seen how large the problem really was.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=29609\">Click here to continue reading: PART 14: Thomas Admitted He Bought My Name, but the Missing Pieces Pointed Toward Someone Who Had Been Near the Lottery Claim From Day One<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elena moved before anyone else did.
