nine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou left.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The room went still.<\/p>\n<p>Gerald continued:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou signed the statement about Eleanor and Mercer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo. It was the beginning. Do you understand?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Evelyn\u2019s breathing became audible.<\/p>\n<p>Gerald said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this goes wrong, everyone asks why you helped me destroy your sister-in-law.
