from Gerald.<\/p>\n<p>But she had accessed the vault months before any of this began.<\/p>\n<p>Pike called her.<\/p>\n<p>No answer.<\/p>\n<p>Again.<\/p>\n<p>No answer.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher checked her protected location.<\/p>\n<p>She was gone.<\/p>\n<p>The officer assigned outside her room had found the door locked from within.<\/p>\n<p>Window open.<\/p>\n<p>No sign of struggle.<\/p>\n<p>On the table lay one note.<\/p>\n<p>Pike received a photograph.<\/p>\n<p>Three words.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019M FINISHING IT.<\/p>\n<p>Rachel looked terrified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat does that mean?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nobody knew.<\/p>\n<p>Then another message arrived from the officer.<\/p>\n<p>Evelyn had left one item behind.<\/p>\n<p>A key.<\/p>\n<p>Brass.<\/p>\n<p>Round top.<\/p>\n<p>Paper tag.<\/p>\n<p>47.<\/p>\n<p>The same key that had disappeared from Rachel\u2019s envelope the night she was drugged.<\/p>\n<p>Evelyn had taken it.<\/p>\n<p>And whatever she had been doing since
