Not the full archive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maya thought of the Alamo Ridge fire.<\/p>\n<p>Kessler removed something before burning the hangar.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe one storage unit.<\/p>\n<p>Not everything.<\/p>\n<p>Gabriel\u2019s duplicate rule again.<\/p>\n<p>One where people expect.<\/p>\n<p>One where nobody would.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the hangar, Reed drew a pistol.<\/p>\n<p>Mercer swore.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTeams move.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maya stopped him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWait.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vale did not react.<\/p>\n<p>Reed pointed the weapon at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere is the archive?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vale answered calmly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou already saw it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reed froze.<\/p>\n<p>So did Maya.<\/p>\n<p>Vale continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Gabriel\u2019s memorial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maya\u2019s mind raced.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial.<\/p>\n<p>Flowers.<\/p>\n<p>Uniforms.<\/p>\n<p>Photographs.<\/p>\n<p>Folded flag.<\/p>\n<p>Squadron display.<\/p>\n<p>Gabriel\u2019s helmet.<\/p>\n<p>His flight bag.<\/p>\n<p>A memory surfaced.<\/p>\n<p>A wooden shadow box presented to Camila.<\/p>\n<p>Inside were Gabriel\u2019s wings, rank insignia, squadron patch and a brass nameplate.<\/p>\n<p>Camila had later told Maya she could not bear to hang it.<\/p>\n<p>She stored it somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Maya grabbed her phone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCall Camila.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mercer did.<\/p>\n<p>No answer.<\/p>\n<p>Again.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the hangar, Reed lowered the pistol slightly.<\/p>\n<p>Vale said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGabriel knew you would search the obvious things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reed\u2019s face drained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe shadow box.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vale smiled.<\/p>\n<p>Maya whispered, \u201cOh, Gabriel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second archive had never been at Alamo Ridge.<\/p>\n<p>The clue led through where he learned to fly.<\/p>\n<p>The old photograph.<\/p>\n<p>The memorial.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation box constructed from wood reclaimed from Alamo Ridge\u2019s original hangar after it closed.<\/p>\n<p>Camila had mentioned that detail once.<\/p>\n<p>Maya had forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>Mercer finally reached federal protection in San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere is Camila?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A pause.<\/p>\n<p>His face changed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He listened.<\/p>\n<p>Then looked at Maya.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe left the house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwenty minutes ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith whom?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one knows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her vehicle had been found three blocks away.<\/p>\n<p>Driver door open.<\/p>\n<p>No sign of struggle.<\/p>\n<p>On the passenger seat lay Gabriel\u2019s empty shadow box.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=28936\">Click here to continue reading: PART 24: Camila Disappears With Gabriel\u2019s Last Archive, and Maya Finally Learns Who Ordered Nightglass to Keep Killing After Kessler Lost Control<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They did not intercept the train.
