transferred the file into a protected environment.

The video opened.

A dark room.

One chair.

Then a man stepped into view.

Gray suit.

Silver hair.

Thin face.

Maya had never met him.

She knew anyway.

Adrian Kessler sat down.

He looked directly into the camera.

“If you are watching this, Major Lin, then Gabriel’s habit of planning beyond his own death has become inconvenient again.”

Maya did not move.

Kessler smiled faintly.

“You were never supposed to find the archive.”

His expression was composed, almost pleasant.

“But if you did, I wanted you to understand something.”

He leaned closer.

“Gabriel Torres did not die because defective components happened to fail.”

Maya stopped breathing.

Behind her, nobody spoke.

Kessler continued.

“His aircraft was selected.”

Maya’s hands went numb.

The room disappeared around her.

The military board.

Vale’s questions.

Sterling’s admissions.

Gabriel’s final transmission.

All of it narrowed to the man on the screen.

Kessler looked almost bored.

“He became dangerous when he started copying records.”

Maya whispered, “No.”

The recording continued.

“We could not risk an arrest, disappearance or obvious accident. Those create questions.”

Kessler’s faint smile returned.

“A mechanical failure creates reports.”

Maya felt Davis move closer.

Kessler said, “Reports can be managed.”

The video cut to black.

For one second, the screen reflected Maya’s own face.

Then new white text appeared.

Three words.

FLIGHT 412 NEXT.

Click here to continue reading: PART 9: Kessler’s Message Turns Flight 412 Into Evidence of Attempted Murder, but Maya Finds a Second Meaning Hidden in His Threat

The phone trace failed.
