Grandma knew. Uncle Mark knew. Walter knew some of it. Curtis knew some of it. And I\u2019m always the kid everybody tells to go somewhere else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Walter turned his head toward the window.<\/p>\n<p>Sal studied the floor.<\/p>\n<p>My son was not entirely wrong.<\/p>\n<p>I lowered my voice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou deserve the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen let me come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou deserve the truth. discrepancy.<\/p>\n<p>2:05 p.m. Curtis asked about witness line.<\/p>\n<p>4:20 p.m. Confronted M + Helen.<\/p>\n<p>Helen.<\/p>\n<p>My mother.<\/p>\n<p>6:05 p.m. Copies secured.<\/p>\n<p>7:15 p.m. Meet L.C.<\/p>\n<p>I pointed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho is L.C.?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve had these records for two days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI still don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Below that:<\/p>\n<p>If M follows, call Elena.<\/p>\n<p>I stared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElena?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Detective Elena Ruiz.<\/p>\n<p>Impossible.<\/p>\n<p>She had not mentioned strikes.<\/p>\n<p>Exactly like at Curtis\u2019s apartment.<\/p>\n<p>My mother\u2019s face collapsed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told him I destroyed these.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I pulled free.<\/p>\n<p>My phone
