much?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne million.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eric&#39;s future changed depending on whether I removed him from my house.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas had financially linked my personal boundary to Eric&#39;s business inheritance.<\/p>\n<p>Anger rose instantly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca waited.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo what?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will not let money influence my sure?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I remove Eric from the house, that decision will be about the house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not a lever.<\/p>\n<p>Not a punishment.<\/p>\n<p>Not a business funding mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas had spent too many years combining love, money, discipline, and ownership until nobody knew where one ended.<\/p>\n<p>I would not continue it.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca nodded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#39;ll prepare the disclaimer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mara smiled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat might be the first truly clean decision anyone
