would you have had me do?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The question came louder than anything else he had said.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone went quiet.<\/p>\n<p>Richard looked around the room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRobert died at forty-one. His grandson died as a child. Carter&#39;s fertility was compromised. The trust was designed by dead men who had no understanding of modern medicine or reproductive technology. The company employs thousands of people. Billions in assets depend on stable succession.
