You hide one piece because you think it protects someone, then twenty years later people are dead and nobody knows why.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vivian did not answer.<\/p>\n<p>Celia leaned closer to the microphone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you know something, say it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Vivian spoke again, her voice was different.<\/p>\n<p>Smaller.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRaymond thought Marcus\u2019s account was controlled by someone inside the family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhich family?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOurs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomeone who had access to Marcus\u2019s passwords, legal records, old correspondence, and personal effects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Celia stared at the screen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat could be you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvelyn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJulian.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho else?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vivian hesitated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarcus\u2019s widow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Celia\u2019s face emptied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy stepmother?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I had forgotten Marcus remarried years after Elena died.<\/p>\n<p>Celia rarely mentioned her.<\/p>\n<p>Her name was Nadine Hart.<\/p>\n<p>She had been married to Marcus for fourteen years before his death.<\/p>\n<p>Afterward, she moved to France.<\/p>\n<p>Celia said they had barely spoken in years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy would Nadine use Marcus\u2019s identity?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid Raymond suspect her?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNear the end.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause she inherited his personal archive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The notebook Vivian held had not come directly from Marcus.<\/p>\n<p>She took it from Nadine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid Nadine give it to you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Celia went still.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou stole it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI recovered it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means stole.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At least Vivian admitted it.<\/p>\n<p>She had broken into a storage property in France after learning Nadine planned to destroy old files.<\/p>\n<p>There she found Marcus\u2019s notebook.<\/p>\n<p>She also found copies of Bellwether incorporation documents.<\/p>\n<p>And communications from Julian.<\/p>\n<p>And something else.<\/p>\n<p>A schedule of insurance policies.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas.<\/p>\n<p>Sloane.<\/p>\n<p>Several others.<\/p>\n<p>The handwriting was not Marcus\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>It belonged to Nadine.<\/p>\n<p>I felt a chill move through me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNadine knew about my policy?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore it was created?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investigation had just expanded again.<\/p>\n<p>But Vivian\u2019s next sentence narrowed it sharply.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe also knew Raymond was in Prague.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Celia closed her eyes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another confession.<\/p>\n<p>Another chain.<\/p>\n<p>Vivian contacted Nadine before confronting Raymond because she believed Nadine might know who was still using Marcus\u2019s account.<\/p>\n<p>Nadine denied everything.<\/p>\n<p>Then disappeared from France.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere is she now?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Authorities checked.<\/p>\n<p>Nadine Hart had left France three days before Raymond died.<\/p>\n<p>Destination:<\/p>\n<p>Prague.<\/p>\n<p>Celia stared at the screen.<\/p>\n<p>The stepmother she had almost stopped thinking about had been in the same city as Raymond.<\/p>\n<p>Then Adrian entered and placed a printout beside me.<\/p>\n<p>A facial comparison had been performed on the petrol-station footage.<\/p>\n<p>The older woman was Vivian.<\/p>\n<p>But another roadside camera, later that night, captured a different woman in the second vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The image was clearer.<\/p>\n<p>Celia recognized her immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNadine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nadine Hart had gone to Raymond\u2019s farmhouse after Vivian left.<\/p>\n<p>And according to the recovered email, someone using Marcus\u2019s dead account had told Raymond they were coming.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=27393\">Click here to continue reading: PART 19: Nadine Hart Became the Last Known Visitor to Raymond\u2019s Farmhouse, and Her Private Archive Connected My Life Insurance Policy Directly to Marcus<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Swiss authorities reached the Zurich station too late.
