Did I ask anything unusual?&quot;<\/p>\n<p>He thought.<\/p>\n<p>Then his expression changed.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;You asked Rebecca about vendor coding.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>I remembered.<\/p>\n<p>A minor invoice discrepancy.<\/p>\n<p>One Laurel Crest payment had appeared under an old expense category.<\/p>\n<p>I had flagged it in an email.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca responded that she&#39;d investigate after the holiday.<\/p>\n<p>At the time it meant nothing.<\/p>\n<p>To Brooke, apparently, it meant I had gotten too close.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;So Christmas wasn&#39;t only about controlling my parents.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Rachel looked at the draft.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;No.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;It distracted me.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Maybe.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;It got my parents away from my house.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Mercer turned toward me.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Why would that matter?&quot;<\/p>\n<p>The Christmas Eve photograph returned to my mind.<\/p>\n<p>Luis proving I was home.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel supposedly heading toward the house.<\/p>\n<p>Files disappearing from the garage.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Because somebody expected to come here.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>No one spoke.<\/p>\n<p>The sequence rearranged itself.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke tells my parents not to come.<\/p>\n<p>Luis watches my house.<\/p>\n<p>Someone photographs me.<\/p>\n<p>Someone later breaks into my garage.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel drives toward my address carrying evidence.<\/p>\n<p>The crash happens nearby.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca panics.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;She was managing where everyone would be,&quot; I said.<\/p>\n<p>Mercer nodded slowly.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Potentially.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Ryan suddenly spoke.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Miranda.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;What?&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Rebecca changed the office holiday schedule.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>I stared at him.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;What do you mean?&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;She told us you approved closing early on Christmas Eve.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I didn&#39;t.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We all left by one.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>My heartbeat accelerated.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Was she here after?&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;She said she&#39;d lock up.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>The entire Holt Ridge office had been empty.<\/p>\n<p>Except Rebecca.<\/p>\n<p>On the day somebody wanted access to old records.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Check cameras,&quot; Mercer said.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan pulled up archived footage.<\/p>\n<p>At 1:18 p.m., the last employee left.<\/p>\n<p>At 1:42, Rebecca appeared near the side entrance.<\/p>\n<p>She unlocked the door.<\/p>\n<p>A dark SUV backed into the loading area.<\/p>\n<p>The same model that had picked her up earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The driver remained hidden.<\/p>\n<p>Then another figure stepped out.<\/p>\n<p>A woman.<\/p>\n<p>Long coat.<\/p>\n<p>Dark hair.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan whispered, &quot;Jesus.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Brooke entered my office.<\/p>\n<p>She remained inside for eleven minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Then Rebecca carried two archive boxes toward the SUV.<\/p>\n<p>The boxes were labeled.<\/p>\n<p>OLD LEGAL.<\/p>\n<p>I felt the room tilt.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;What was stored in those?&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Ryan looked at me.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;You&#39;d know better.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>I did.<\/p>\n<p>Old contracts.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate formation copies.<\/p>\n<p>Early tax files.<\/p>\n<p>Signature records.<\/p>\n<p>Exactly the materials someone would need to manufacture history.<\/p>\n<p>The footage continued.<\/p>\n<p>Before leaving, Brooke stopped beneath the camera.<\/p>\n<p>She looked directly into it.<\/p>\n<p>Then smiled.<\/p>\n<p>Not because she knew we&#39;d eventually watch.<\/p>\n<p>Because she knew Rebecca would delete the footage.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca had tried.<\/p>\n<p>She simply hadn&#39;t deleted the backup.<\/p>\n<p>Mercer froze the frame.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke&#39;s face filled the screen.<\/p>\n<p>Rachel spoke quietly.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;She&#39;s been preparing for this longer than any of us understood.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Then Ryan noticed something.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Wait.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>He rewound the footage.<\/p>\n<p>At 1:55, while Brooke remained inside my office, another person crossed the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>A man.<\/p>\n<p>He entered through the loading door.<\/p>\n<p>Even in grainy footage, I recognized his build.<\/p>\n<p>His face.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Price.<\/p>\n<p>Brooke hadn&#39;t been working against Daniel two days before Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>They had entered my company together.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=27233\">Click here to continue reading: PART 11: Security Footage Proved Brooke and Daniel Were Still Partners, Until One Deleted Recording Showed Exactly Why Their Alliance Broke Apart<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By the time I reached Holt Ridge&#39;s office, two investigators were already there.
