it.<\/p>\n<p>A man matching Victor\u2019s build entered the station.<\/p>\n<p>Changed jackets in a restroom.<\/p>\n<p>Exited through another door.<\/p>\n<p>Got into a taxi.<\/p>\n<p>The taxi took him to a private airfield.<\/p>\n<p>My stomach tightened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid he fly?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo flight left during that period.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo another vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Victor had created layers.<\/p>\n<p>Every discovered route produced another.<\/p>\n<p>But the airfield camera captured something he had not planned.<\/p>\n<p>Someone met him.<\/p>\n<p>A woman.<\/p>\n<p>Older.<\/p>\n<p>Silver hair.<\/p>\n<p>Emily leaned toward Daniel\u2019s screen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho is she?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel did not answer immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Facial comparison was underway.<\/p>\n<p>At eleven thirty, he called again.<\/p>\n<p>They had a likely identification.<\/p>\n<p>I expected an employee.<\/p>\n<p>A lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>Someone from Westbridge.<\/p>\n<p>Instead Daniel said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer name is Lydia Shaw.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I frowned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Greg looked equally confused.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVictor\u2019s sister.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Margaret had never mentioned a daughter.<\/p>\n<p>Not once.<\/p>\n<p>According to public records, Lydia Shaw had been dead for nine years.<\/p>\n<p>Yet a woman matching her identity had met Victor at the airfield.<\/p>\n<p>Victor was not merely hiding.<\/p>\n<p>He was following a route someone in his own family had used before.<\/p>\n<p>And suddenly Margaret Shaw\u2019s history contained another disappearance we had never
