refusal?”

“Stronger.”

“Purchase option?”

“Yes.”

“At what price?”

“Original cost plus indexed appreciation, not market value.”

My pulse quickened.

“Who holds Thomas’s right now?”

“If the trust is restored properly, you.”

I stared.

“Against Robert's half?”

“Yes.”

“How much?”

Margaret had already calculated.

“Approximately seven hundred fifty thousand dollars.”

North Warehouse land was worth several million.

“Why would Dad create that?”

“Because he and Robert wanted the property kept stable beneath Prescott.”

“So if Robert ever tried to use his half against the company—”

“You could acquire it.”

“Did Robert know?”

“He signed.”

Daniel, joining remotely from Nina’s office, stared at the document.

“My dad signed away a purchase right?”

“He received the same reciprocal protection.”

“If Thomas sold first.”

“Yes.”

Nina was already reading.

“Has a trigger occurred?”

Margaret nodded.

“Robert accepted the fraudulent transfer of Thomas's half and later participated in structures that treated himself as sole owner. More importantly, he pledged economic interests through PHL Management.”

“Pledged?”

I looked at Nina.

She found it.

Robert had used anticipated land distributions to secure financing for PHL.

That likely triggered the option.

“When?”

“Three years ago.”

“Still exercisable?”

“Possibly, subject to notice and tolling because concealment prevented Claire from knowing.”

I looked at Daniel.

If valid, I could acquire Robert’s legitimate fifty percent.

Combined with Dad's recovered half, I could own the entire land beneath North Warehouse.

Not Prescott.

The land.

Separately.

Cleanly.

“Would that strengthen the company?”

Marcus asked.

“Yes,” Nina said. “Claire could grant Prescott a long-term lease on stable terms.”

“Can the land be used for refinancing?”

“If Claire chooses.”

That word mattered.

Chooses.

Not automatically.

Not because Daniel needed it.

Not because Robert expected it.

Because I decided.

“What happens to Robert?”

“He receives the option price.”

“Not market value.”

“No.”

It felt almost unfair.

Then I remembered he had accepted a dead man's forged transfer.

Collected distributions.

Helped hide ownership.

Built Westbridge.

Promised money if Daniel removed me.

Consequences were not always equal to market value.

“Can we exercise?”

“Not today,” Nina said. “We need title analysis and formal trust restoration.”

“But potentially.”

“Yes.”

I looked at Margaret.

“Why didn't you tell me earlier?”

She met my eyes.

“Because I failed you too.”

The answer was direct.

No excuse.

“I let Charles convince me you had chosen silence when I should've verified it with you.”

I appreciated that more than elaborate justification.

She continued.

“And later I became too focused on building proof.”

“Instead of giving me what you had.”

“Yes.”

I nodded.

“I understand.”

“Do you forgive me?”

“No.”

She smiled sadly.

“Good.”

That surprised me.

“Why good?”

“Because people have been asking you to convert understanding into forgiveness too quickly for eleven years.”

I looked at her.

For the first time in days, someone said something that did not demand a decision from me.

My phone buzzed.

Nina checked the message simultaneously.

“The Singapore restraint expanded.”

“How much?”

“Two million frozen.”

“And Hong Kong?”

“Tracing.”

“What about Samuel Price?”

“Located.”

“Where?”

“Airport in Vancouver.”

“Leaving?”

“Trying.”

“For?”

“Panama.”

I almost laughed.

Every person eventually reached an airport.

“Did authorities stop him?”

“For questioning.”

“What did he have?”

Nina looked at the message.

“Documents.”

“What kind?”

“Original signature pages.”

My breath caught.

“How many?”

“Eleven.”

“Mine?”

“Seven.”

“Daniel's?”

“Three.”

“And the last?”

Nina's expression changed.

“Thomas Morgan.”

My father.

A genuine original signature page.

Taken from an old land-partnership document.

The source Victor—or someone before him—could have used to create the posthumous transfer.

For the first time, we had a physical bridge between my father's real signature and the fraudulent deed that moved his land after death.

“Samuel forged Dad's transfer.”

Margaret shook her head.

“Maybe.”

“Who else had those pages?”

“Charles's office.”

Nina looked at me.

“The signature pages can tell us chain of custody.”

“And if Samuel talks?”

“He may tell us who ordered it.”

I thought of Charles.

Robert.

Daniel.

Victor.

So many people had benefited.

But the oldest forged document predated Victor's active plan.

Somebody had begun falsifying my father's estate years before Victor turned Prescott into a target.

If Samuel knew who, we might finally identify the first deliberate fraud—not just the people who later built on it.

Click here to continue reading: PART 28: Samuel Price Finally Named the Person Who Forged My
