Several photographs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd my wooden box.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat changes what I should expect?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Susan paused.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne line at the bottom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I waited.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe wrote, \u2018If the red folder is missing, Russell has already been inside.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My skin went cold.<\/p>\n<p>I turned toward the connecting door.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussell told me he\u2019d never entered the unit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen verify that before you trust him inside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I gripped the phone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is the red folder?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour mother called it proof of the second settlement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I stopped breathing for a moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe second what?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSettlement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was another settlement?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor my accident?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow much?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Susan\u2019s answer was quiet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to your mother\u2019s note, more than the first.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I stared at the wall separating me from my brother.<\/p>\n<p>The room seemed to narrow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat was it for?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour mother didn\u2019t write that down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A knock sounded on the connecting door.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLinda?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t answer.<\/p>\n<p>Susan continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne more thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe inventory says the red folder also contains a photograph of the person who actually received the money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The knock came again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLinda?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I slipped the phone into my pocket, opened the door, and looked at Russell.<\/p>\n<p>He was dressed.<\/p>\n<p>Ready.<\/p>\n<p>His eyes moved to my face.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happened?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I studied the man who had lied to me for sixty years.<\/p>\n<p>Then I asked the question Susan Hall\u2019s call had made unavoidable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHave you already been inside that storage unit?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Russell stopped breathing.<\/p>\n<p>And before he answered, I knew the answer was yes.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=22961\">Click here to continue reading: PART 6: Inside the Storage Unit, One Missing Red Folder Proved Russell Had Lied Again and Pointed to a Second Hidden Settlement<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We reached Memphis a little after midnight, but neither of us was ready to sleep.
