The right to be helped without being possessed.<\/p>\n
The right to change her mind.<\/p>\n
The right to leave.<\/p>\n
The right to stay.<\/p>\n
The right to say yes.<\/p>\n
The right to say no.<\/p>\n
And, when her own voice eventually grew weak, the right to have the choices she made earlier treated as instructions rather than inconveniences.<\/p>\n
No one could inherit that right from her.<\/p>\n
They already had their own.<\/p>\n
They only had to remember not to take it from one another.<\/p>\n
