Then Julian began stealing from him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He looked over his shoulder again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd when Richard found out, Julian decided he needed someone else to blame for everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My stomach tightened.<\/p>\n<p>Liam leaned closer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat person is you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video ended.<\/p>\n<p>For several seconds, neither Eleanor nor I moved.<\/p>\n<p>Then another message appeared.<\/p>\n<p>This one came from Julian.<\/p>\n<p>A photograph.<\/p>\n<p>He and Chloe were seated aboard an aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>My grandmother\u2019s sapphire remained around her neck.<\/p>\n<p>Under the image, Julian had written:<\/p>\n<p>Last chance to leave this alone.<\/p>\n<p>I looked at his face.<\/p>\n<p>The man smiling from the airplane believed he was still dictating the terms.<\/p>\n<p>He believed fear would make me obedient.<\/p>\n<p>He believed the sedative, the signatures, the fake recording, and the planted money had given him control of the story.<\/p>\n<p>I saved the photograph to the evidence folder.<\/p>\n<p>Then I looked at Eleanor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m done letting him choose what happens next.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She gave one slow nod.<\/p>\n<p>Outside, morning sunlight was beginning to shine across the snow.<\/p>\n<p>Somewhere above the Atlantic, Julian Sterling was leaving the country.<\/p>\n<p>And somewhere much closer, the father we had buried four years earlier was waiting to see which of us reached the truth first.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=21290\">Click here to continue reading: PART 5: Liam\u2019s Missing Ledger Proved Julian Had Been Preparing My Fall Long Before I Discovered Chloe, and Someone Wanted It Destroyed<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The black sedan appeared across the street at 6:23 in the morning.
