faces.<\/p>\n<p>Employees.<\/p>\n<p>Clients.<\/p>\n<p>Classmates.<\/p>\n<p>People from church.<\/p>\n<p>A man standing beneath an oak tree.<\/p>\n<p>Silver hair.<\/p>\n<p>Dark glasses.<\/p>\n<p>I had noticed him because he did not approach me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho is Jonathan Keene?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marcus answered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe person Vivian married in 1976.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chloe stared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder another name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat name?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marcus looked at me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHarold Greene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No.<\/p>\n<p>I shook my head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHarold was Frank Heller.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what Harold told everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaniel confirmed it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaniel confirmed the identity Harold used.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marcus leaned forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrank Heller was real.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happened to him?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe disappeared in 1971.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Harold took his identity?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJonathan did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The room seemed to tilt.<\/p>\n<p>Harold was not the investigator my mother trusted.<\/p>\n<p>He was Samuel Keene\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p>A man who had entered my company and remained there for twenty-eight years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marcus looked at Arthur\u2019s medicine bottle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause his family never stopped studying yours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My phone rang.<\/p>\n<p>Unknown number.<\/p>\n<p>I answered.<\/p>\n<p>Harold\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMartha.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police supposedly had him in custody.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere are you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He laughed softly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou still think the man they arrested is me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My blood went cold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe police have Frank.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I looked at Marcus.<\/p>\n<p>He closed his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Harold continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrank Heller has been alive all along.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen who are you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSay it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJonathan Keene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Andrew stood.<\/p>\n<p>David grabbed his phone to call the detective.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan said, \u201cArthur finally told you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid you poison him?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Silence.<\/p>\n<p>Then:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho did?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The room vanished around me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou gave him the pills.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, Martha.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never touched that bottle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou filled his weekly organizer every Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I remembered.<\/p>\n<p>I had.<\/p>\n<p>For years.<\/p>\n<p>My hands began shaking.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan\u2019s
