I thought you would complain, we would fight, I would apologize enough, and eventually everything would return to normal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My throat tightened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat isn\u2019t love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEntitlement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The word came without hesitation.<\/p>\n<p>I looked away.<\/p>\n<p>Richard quietly gathered his papers, giving me the privacy he could without leaving.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel said, \u201cI don\u2019t expect that admission to fix anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For several seconds neither of us spoke.<\/p>\n<p>Then Richard\u2019s phone buzzed again.<\/p>\n<p>He glanced at the screen.<\/p>\n<p>His face changed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClaire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Something in his voice made me straighten.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lender handling the North Shore application just sent the original submission log.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel went silent.<\/p>\n<p>Richard opened the document.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat does it show?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDates, upload credentials, IP records, user identities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My pulse quickened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe forged consent was not uploaded through Vanessa\u2019s account.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElliot?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I stared at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaniel?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard shook his head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel said, \u201cThen who?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard enlarged the record.<\/p>\n<p>The uploader was identified only by an administrative account.<\/p>\n<p>But the originating IP address had been preserved.<\/p>\n<p>Richard was already comparing it with another file.<\/p>\n<p>Then he stopped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He looked at me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe same IP address appears on several transfers from your investment account.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The room went silent.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel spoke first.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause I initiated those transfers from home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard looked toward the router on the bookshelf.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom this house?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I felt cold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo the forged document was uploaded from here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApparently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard read the timestamp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNovember fourteenth. 10:42 p.m.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I knew that date.<\/p>\n<p>Not because of Daniel.<\/p>\n<p>Because I had been in New York that night for a charity board dinner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWere you here?\u201d I asked him.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel answered immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere were you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChicago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I remembered.<\/p>\n<p>A consulting conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen who was in the house?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neither of us spoke.<\/p>\n<p>And then I remembered something else.<\/p>\n<p>Vanessa had stayed here that week.<\/p>\n<p>She had been watching our dog while both of us traveled.<\/p>\n<p>I reached for my phone.<\/p>\n<p>Before I could call her, a message appeared.<\/p>\n<p>From Vanessa.<\/p>\n<p>Only seven words.<\/p>\n<p>Claire, I know who copied your signature.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insightdrama.com\/?p=13371\">Click here to continue reading: PART 13: Vanessa Named the Person Behind My Forged Signature, Then Admitted Why She Had Protected Him for Months<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daniel pulled over before telling me the rest.
