wall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gabriel stopped.<\/p>\n<p>I paced toward the window.<\/p>\n<p>My children had forgotten my birthday because they were busy.<\/p>\n<p>That was the around his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>A particular crease beside the mouth that I had watched deepen on Robert&#39;s face over thirty-seven years.<\/p>\n<p>My heart began hammering harder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gabriel lowered his gaze.<\/p>\n<p>I backed away from him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTeresa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon&#39;t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I
